This week, tell us about a lost art: one that you know, one that you miss, or one that should be lost for good.
I think weaving is probably a lost art here in America. And it is an art that we will all desperately miss when the Apocalypse comes and wipes all of our modern conveniences from the face of the world. Once all the store bought clothes are gone, or destroyed, how will we cover our nakedness and protect ourselves from the elements?
Furs? I wouldn’t even know where to begin. My aim isn’t so great. And I couldn’t shoot Bambi! *cries*
Okay, I admit that there are plenty of people who know how to knit, or sew… but how many people in this modern American culture actually know how to make the very fabric itself? From scratch, mind you. Sheering those poor sheep bald. BAA! No stopping at the local WalMart or craft supply center to pick up a few odds and ends, no sirree.
We’ll be in a world of hurt without weaving, believe you me. Especially those of us in the cooler climates. *BRR*
